I am happily married to my soul mate and best friend. We have 1 healthy boy - a year and a half old. We met eachother as teenagers and parted ways while we attended different colleges. A few years later, after we had both returned to our hometown, we reconnected at a party for a mutual friend. After several months of get togethers and such, it became so that we could not simply remain friends. We began dating in 2004 and married in 2005. We wanted a large family, but decided not to have any children right away. We wanted time to enjoy being newlyweds and to nuture our relationship. In the begining of 2007, we began TTC.
After 9 months of trying, I became inpatient and visited the Jones Institute in Norfolk for help. They confirmed that I have PCOS, which is the reason why my cycles are so incredibly irregular and set me up to start Clomid on my next cycle. But Aunt Flo never came. Tried Provera. Still didn't come. Waited, then visited the office for a blood test, and to our biggest suprise - we were already pregnant. Turns out I was pregnant when I visited Jones the first time but that it was barely to early to show up on either a home test or Ultasound. We couldn't have been more excited and anxious for our baby.
Pregnancy was textbook normal except for a few extra pounds. Glucose turned out to be little high, but not diabetic. I went into labor on my due date and a healty boy was born the next day. His size (9 lbs. 4 oz. ) forced me to have a cesarian after pushing for nearly 3 hours, but a healty delivery none the less.
Several months after our son was born, we started TTC. We hoped that the pregnancy would have 'rebooted' my fertility and that convieving our next would be easy. Or at least, that we would be able to concieve without treatment. But PCOS kicked in and I went without a cycle for about several months until I visited my OBGyn. Provera regulated my cycle, but we still failed to conceive. Once I realized that it had been a full year of TTC, I pleaded with my PCP for another referral to the Jones Institute.
So I was midcycle during my first visit, and an Ultrasound revealed a follicle (11 mm) in left ovary. Too small to ovulate. A few days later, that follicle grew to 18 mm. So the doctor predicted ovulation and DH and I made sure to give it our all. But it seems our efforts were in vain, because Aunt Flo visited right on schedule. And for the first time in a year - she came punctually at 16 dpo. So here I am, CD 8, taking my Clomid every night, praying and hoping for a baby.
